Some Background
My name is Hari Sridhar, and I was born 1996 in Edison, NJ. I currently reside in Woodbridge, VA, and I recently graduated from UT Austin (class of 2018), earning a bachelors of computer science and mathematics in the process, and before that, graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology ( Class of 2014 ). I have prior experience in software engineering internships Anant Corporation, Intel, and Amazon.
As a college student, I pursued two major research opportunities. The first was from January 2015 to December 2015, through the Freshmen Research Initiative, headed by Dr. Calvin Lin and Ashay Rane. Here, I pursued a project in the security of information flow control of Docker containers. I also pursued a research opportunity, under Dr. Etienne Vouga from Septemeber 2016 – May 2018. Here, I researched the rigid alignment of two non-overlapping 3D scans using minimal surfaces and iterative methods.
During high school, I participated in two summer internships. This includes the U.S. Army Research Lab in Adelphi, Maryland, from July 2013 – August 2014, where I worked with MATLAB programs, and Anant Corporation in Georgetown, Washington D.C. from July 2014 to May 2015, where I worked with social media tools developed with .Net. I also interned both full-time, for two summers, and part-time, at Intel from July 2015 – March 2017 on the Atom Frontend Infrastructure team, where I developed internal tools and collected job submission error metrics. In addition, I interned at Amazon in Seattle, WA from June 2017 till August 2017, where I developed an animated traffic graphic for E-commerce webpage transition data across marketplaces
With regards to programming languages, I am an enthusiast for Java, C, C++, and MATLAB (yes, MATLAB). I’ve programmed for about 3 years in these languages. In addition, I’ve also experience with Perl, Ruby, and Javascript. My primary interests in software engineering are Backend and Full Stack engineering. I’m also interested in these other areas of software engineering and computer science, and would like to look more into growth and potential in these markets :
- Data Science
- Web Development
- Computer Vision
- Machine Learning
- Graphics
- IoT
- Augmented Reality
- Microservices
- Serverless Architectures
- Data Analytics
- Financial Tech
In my free time, I enjoy the following activities
-
- Programming on the Side
- Solving LeetCode problems
- Reading books
- Journaling
- Sketching
- Community/social outreach
